Deontay Wilder had a creative way of predicting a knockout win in his upcoming fight.

On December 23, Saudi Arabia will host one of the biggest boxing events of the year, Day of Reckoning, featuring several world-class heavyweight fighters. In the main event, Anthony Joshua looks to continue his comeback tour by taking out Otto Wallin.

Meanwhile, the co-main event will showcase the American knockout artist Deontay Wilder taking on the always dangerous Aussie, Joseph Parker. Per usual, Wilder expects to secure another devastating knockout win, which would extend his professional boxing record to 44-2-1.

Earlier today, the stars of Saturday’s event came together for a final press conference. When asked about his knockout prediction, Wilder responded with this message to his upcoming opponent:

“I come to do what I do best…At the end of the day, people have things to do. They want to come see a fight and after they want to go party. So, when you’re watching me, like I said, don’t blink. I’m going to give you what you want to see. Nowadays, my name is called Dr.Sleep, and I definitely got the Nyquil in the right hand. So, I hope you bring a pillow and a blanket. It gets a little chilly at night.”

Deontay Wilder reiterates belief that Joseph Parker ducked him several years ago

It’s no secret that world-class boxing matches can be difficult to book. At one point, then-WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was in negotiations to fight then-WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker. The intriguing matchup ultimately fell through, with Wilder accusing Parker of ducking.

During the previously mentioned press conference, Wilder had this to say about Parker allegedly avoiding a fight with him several years ago:

“I truly believe he ran from me. I’ve heard that he said he’s confident that he’s gonna knock me out. I kind of find that hard to believe because how can you have that confidence in yourself as a challenger, and you didn’t have confidence in yourself as a champion? It’s kind of backwards to me, but whatever flows his boat. We’ll see what happens on Saturday night. I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to sharing the ring with him, and may the best man win.”

Deontay Wilder will have added pressure on Saturday night. With a win against Joseph Parker, Wilder is expected to sign a two-fight deal with Anthony Joshua to deliver the highly-anticipated matchup in 2024. Firstly, both fighters must emerge victorious at Day of Reckoning.
