Francis Ngannou likes his chances against Deontay Wilder after ‘The Bronze Bomber’ came up wildly short against Joseph Parker as part of the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in Riyadh.

Considered one of the greatest knockout artists in the history of the division, Wilder failed to muster much offense in a 12-round scrap with Parker in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday. It was clear from the opening bell that Wilder was gunning for the one-hitter quitter, but Parker’s evasive footwork, head movement, and stinging right hand were more than enough to keep Wilder’s signature weapon at bay.

In the end, Parker ran away with the unanimous decision, scoring the biggest win of his career.

The bout killed any hope of booking a superfight between Wilder and the evening’s big winner, Anthony Joshua, but former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is already chomping at the bit to get into the ring, or the cage, with Wilder after his lackluster performance.

“Licking my lips after watching this fight,” Ngannou wrote on X.

Is There Still Interest in Francis Ngannou vs. Deontay Wilder?

Francis Ngannou is coming off a star-making performance inside the squared circle in October, going the distance with the man many believe to be the greatest fighter on the planet, Tyson Fury. ‘The Predator’ even managed to knock down Fury in the third round, but he ultimately came up short on the somewhat controversial scorecards.

Since then, everyone in the WBC top 10 has been lobbying for a fight with Ngannou, including Deontay Wilder who has offered to throw hands with the MMA star inside the PFL Smart Cage.

With three losses in his last four bouts, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ could be in the market for one more big-money matchup before the 38-year-old hangs up his gloves for good.
