It’s kind of nuts that it’s almost April and GTA Online still doesn’t have some of the content that was promised early on. What sold a lot of us on GTA Online was how incredible it sounded, how vast and full of life it was made out to be. You were going to live in a world with a manipulatable stock market, form crews that had a structure and could help your status in the world, trade real estate and yes, do heists with your friends. Most of this stuff simply doesn’t exist in GTA Online or, if it does, it is so mediocre that it’s almost not worth talking about.
If there was a ball that ball was dropped a very long time ago and we ended up with only being able to own one apartment and a steady stream of deathmatches and races as the only real activities. Kind of a bummer. I actually read recently that heists will be “coming soon,” but I guess my question is; who cares? I have a certain affinity for the dudes at RoosterTeeth for their Minecraft Let’s Plays alone, but they do a hell of a job of coming up with their own games inside of games, with GTA 5’s GTA Online being no exception.
Check out this pretty great heist that they threw together where they plan to knock over a convenience store and wait for everything to go horribly wrong. See, you don’t need preset game modes, this is like when you were a kid and would play with toys in a manner that they were never intended to be played with; USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND HAVE FUN!
