Killer Instinct’s TJ Combo is now sporting MMA gloves

When Killer Instinct first launched back in 1994 it was such a huge deal. It was everywhere and it seemed like everyone was talking about it. It’s easy to see why, the people who made the phenomenal Donkey Kong Country were making a fighting game. My dad reserved it for me and I got it on the day it launched. It came with a pretty *killer* Fullgore shirt as well as Killer Cuts, the soundtrack for the game. The game didn’t disappoint, the combo system in it at the time, we never saw anything like it.

Fast forward twenty years and now we are playing Killer Instinct on xbox one and we are ready for season two from Iron Galaxy, the guys who are behind Dive Kick. Twenty years later it appears TJ Combo is not longer a boxer, now he’s sporting MMA gloves, which as my colleague Jason Nawara said, can’t be good. You have to wonder if he had six months of sprawl training, only time will tell.
