Destiny Due Out September 9th with a Summer Beta

Bungie’s Destiny was always one of those games that showed so much promise and seemed like such a cool idea, but sometimes waiting just feels like torture. In the case of Destiny, which was originally slated to have a spring release, it looks like the fall along with every other game known to man is more accurate, as Activision gave a September 9th release date on their investor’s conference call this week. That September 9th release date also means that there will be a beta in the Summer for those that simply cannot wait.

At this point and with the complete lack of details on the game I’ve kind of cooled off on it, as originally I was very excited about the prospect of a Bungie-produced MMO shooter, but as more time passes it’s starting to feel like there are enough games on the market that provide similar experiences. By the time Destiny comes out the PlayStation 4 will already have PlanetSide 2 available and I assume there will be something similar in Xbox One land as well. Bungie will really have to pull out all of the stops to make Destiny as big as they are predicting it to be.
