American grappling sensation Gordon Ryan faces allegations of steroid use after showing off his regained jacked physique in a matter of two weeks.

Gordon Ryan, widely considered to be the greatest no-gi grappler of all time, is one of the most dominant forces in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ). He got into the sport in his teenage years and found success under the tutelage of renowned BJJ coach John Danaher and fellow standout Garry Tonon. Led by Danaher, the group assembled a team of all-star competitors called the ‘Danaher Death Squad’ with Ryan at the forefront.

Ryan took home the top prize in the -88kg weight division at the 2017 ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) World Championship. Then, he handily dispatched the competition by submitting all his opponents at the 2018 Pan No-Gi and World No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the +97.5kg category and the absolute division. In 2019, Ryan went into the ADCC World Championship with a major hand injury but managed to come out on top of the contest in the -99kg class and the absolute division, where he beat his teammate Tonon.

In 2021, Ryan got tapped by combat sports promotion ONE Championship for a grappling match with the possibility of an anticipated mixed martial arts debut. However, Ryan was not able to make an outing under the banner due to his long-term stomach issues.

Ryan opened up on his health challenges last September. He revealed a misdiagnosis of his stomach issue that resulted in him being sidelined for a long time and detailed his arduous road back to recovery.

The 27-year-old etched his name in the history books by becoming the first athlete to compete in the super fight and a weight division at the 2022 ADCC World Championships. He scored gold in the +99kg weight class and also won the super fight against Andre Galvao.

Gordon Ryan took on strongman legend Hafthor ’The Mountain’ Bjornsson and standout Martins Licis in a collaborative grappling training session last December. Despite being heavily outsized, Ryan humbled the two giants using his superior skills. He closed the year with a commanding win over Nicky Rod days later.

Ryan’s immense popularity and success bagged him a seven-figure grappling deal with FloSports earlier this year. He was scheduled to face Felipe Pena for the fourth time at Who’s Number One (WNO) four months ago but ended up pulling out due to stomach issues that resurfaced a week out of the contest.

Last month, Ryan picked up a severe case of strep throat and underwent surgery for a tonsillectomy. He revealed his stomach issues got exacerbated after the whole ordeal.

Ryan left the fans shocked with an unreal reverse body transformation two weeks ago. He looked visibly off and appeared to have lost a significant amount of muscle mass and size. He pinned the blame on an over-dependence on antibiotics, which derailed his gut health even more.

Gordon Ryan sparks steroid allegations after showing off regained jacked physique

In a recent Instagram post, Gordon Ryan showed off his regained jacked physique where he appeared to have put on more muscle like his former self.

“Lotta cockroaches out there who haven’t won anything or done anything in their pathetic lives with my name in their mouth all the time,” wrote Ryan. “Soon, all theyll be able to talk about is the greatness that will soon transpire. Limp ďìćƙ móťĥéŕfùçķéŕš.”

Considering how different Ryan looks in a space of two weeks, fans rushed with the accusation that steroids were responsible.

“TLDR: I’m back on roids,” commented one.

“Back on roids again?” said a user.

Another responded, “Damn bro whats yo cycle im trynna get like u bro.”

Gordon Ryan’s latest update provides a sigh of relief for his fans and is a promising sign that he would make a comeback once he reaches full recovery. He will likely spend the remainder of the year on the sidelines.
