The buzz around Jon Jones potentially retiring is growing stronger as we get closer to his UFC 295 showdown with Stipe Miocic on November 11, 2023, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Jones will square off against former heavyweight champion Miocic in the main event of UFC 295, scheduled for November 11th at Madison Square Garden. This fight comes after Jones secured the heavyweight title by defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 earlier this year.

Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters in history, with a slew of accomplishments in the Octagon. However, his career has been marked by some off-cage issues.

When it comes to the UFC, Jones has achieved almost everything on paper, raising questions about when he might decide to retire. With just weeks to go before his next bout at UFC 295, we might soon get an answer.

Gordon Ryan’s Social Media Message Fuels Rumors of Jon Jones’ Retirement

Adding to this speculation, Brazilian jiu-jitsu sensation Gordon Ryan echoed similar sentiments in a recent Instagram post following another week of training alongside “Bones.”

“Another few days of work with the man [Jon Jones],” Ryan posted. “I’m looking forward to watching him put on a show for the fans and getting ready to soon after leave the sport at the top, on his terms, and unbeaten. What an honor to be a part of this camp.”

Jones hasn’t officially said he’s retiring after UFC 295, but Ryan’s social media slip-up could be a clue.

Well, this makes us believe his first message even more!

Miocic’s future in the cage is also unclear as he hasn’t fought since losing to Ngannou at UFC 260 and is getting older.

It seems the time left to watch Jones and Miocic in the Octagon might be limited, especially for Jones.

For 36-year-old Jones, if he beats Miocic next month, there won’t be much left for him to do in the fight game. It seems he’s not keen on facing the rising Heavyweight fighters.
