Jake Paul is in a lot of pain leading up to his next boxing fight.
Paul takes on Hasim Rahman Jr. in a professional boxing bout taking place August 6 in New York’s Madison Square Garden.
It’s a short-notice matchup with Paul originally set to face Tommy Fury until travel issues ruled the latter out.
Although Rahim Jr. is probably a tougher test than Fury, he lacks the name value, and so, there is not so much of a buzz involving Paul’s next fight compared to his previous outings.
And when it comes to promoting the fight, there’s been a toll on Paul’s body.
Jake Paul: My Opponents Never Sell Sh*t
In a satirical video posted Monday, Paul revealed he had a little accident but would still be able to compete on August 6.
The accident was a “broken back” suffered from carrying the promotion of not only his next fight, but the previous five outings in his professional boxing career.
“I had an accident, I’m still gonna be able to fight August 6th so get your tickets at MSG.com before they sell out,” Paul said in the video posted on Twitter. “I broke my back carrying the promotion for this event. It’s broken! Nurse! Nurse! More morphine!
“I broke my back carrying the last five fights’ promotion! My opponents never sell sh*t! Ah it hurts! It hurts! These motherf*ckers never sell sh*t! They couldn’t sell a pen to a writer!”

While Paul can joke about it, he does need this event to be a box office success. Especially given the reported numbers for his Tyron Woodley rematch.
