Oleksandr Usyk Needs New Opponent, The Former Kickboxing Star Tyrone Spong Positive On Clomiphene!

Oleksandr Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs) Vs Tyrone Spong (14-0, 13 KOs) was set for this weekend. The former cruiserweight champ Usyk still has the right to fight, but he needs a new rival for his heavyweight debut because Spong’s samples are positive on a banned substance.

Usyk’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed “adverse findings” in one of Spong’s VADA tests on his Twitter.

“We have been contacted by VADA to inform us that there has been an adverse finding in Tyrone Spong’s test. It has been sent to the State of Illinois commission and further information will be released in the morning. We have reserve opponents standing by.”

ESPN later confirmed that Tyrone Spong’s sample is positive on clomiphene, so Oleksandr Usyk needs a new rival for this Saturday.

The undefeated Oleksandr Usyk is looking for a short-notice replacement. Before this bout, Usyk was set to meet Carlos Takam in May, but he was forced to pull out due to a biceps injury.

What do you think, who is the next in line for undefeated Ukrainian?
