Floyd Mayweather‘s days of fighting are not yet over.

Mayweather Books Next Bout

After boosting his professional record to 50-0 with a win over Conor McGregor in 2017, the legendary boxer has done an exhibition tour of sorts since then. For his next stop, Mayweather will cross paths with John Gotti III on June 11th.

The exhibition bout will take place in Sunrise, Florida at FLA Live Arena, according to a press release from Mayweather promotions.

Who Is John Gotti III?

To those unfamiliar with Mayweather’s next opponent John Gotti III, he is a professional boxer as well as a MMA fighter. However, Gotti is fairly green in both sports with a 2-0 record as a boxer and a 5-1 record in MMA. He last knocked out Alex Citrowske in the ring in January.

While Gotti III is very far from being the biggest star Mayweather has faced, his grandfather on the other hand may ring a bell for you. John Gotti was a famous gangster and boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City.

Gotti’s passed down name has got him a fight with the illustrious Mayweather, leaving this fight to mirror the first ‘Creed’ movie in which Adonis Creed fights a champion because of the connection to his father, Apollo Creed.

Mayweather’s Exhibition Circuit

Mayweather has fought a plethora of fighters throughout his career— some of which are highly credentialed in the boxing world and others not so much. Following his professional run, Mayweather has picked the fights with YouTubers Logan Paul and ‘Deji’, TV star Aaron Chalmers among others.

‘Money’ will look to make another payday when he fights John Gotti’s grandson, John Gotti III on June 11th.
