Over the past few years, the line between MMA and boxing has become more blurred than ever. Fans are seeing former MMA fighters making the move over to boxing. Many times these fighters are looking to fight for big money, whether that be against a big-name fighter or a celebrity. Most recently the UFC saw their heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou give up the belt in search of a huge opportunity in the boxing world.

Ngannou has been looking to face off against one of the biggest heavyweights in boxing. He has been calling out the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and more. He believes he could be one of the biggest matchups for these superstars. Now Ngannou has caught the eye of another big name in boxing, Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather wants to sign Francis Ngannou to Mayweather promotions

Floyd Mayweather is one of the best boxers of all time. He has retired from competitive boxing but continues to compete in exhibition bouts against celebrities and YouTubers. He certainly knows how to work the system and make the most money he can in these types of fights. Now he is interested in taking Ngannou under his wing. He spoke about this in a recent interview with BetOnline_AG.

“I would love to work with him actually, you know, I would love to work with him, I would love to sign and you know, to Mayweather Promotions. He’s a very skilled guy, he was unbelievable, from the highlights that I was able to see in MMA. I would like to work with him someday, you know, if he wanted to fight one of the top heavyweight guys, he should do it,” he said. “He’s powerful. And with his power and his toughness. He’s able to make some noise in the heavyweight division.”

Mayweather believes Ngannou has what it takes to be competitive with some of the best heavyweights in the world. He believes he would do better with his help. Ngannou is not ready to write off MMA altogether and has been talking with some promotions to return to the cage after his one-off boxing endeavor. Fans are still waiting to see what will come of it although he’s expressed that negotiations for his boxing debut are moving forward.
