Jorge Masvidal will be interested to watch Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz.

On August 5, Paul is set to headline a DAZN boxing pay-per-view in Dallas, Texas in a highly-anticipated bout. It is Paul’s first fight since he lost to Tommy Fury back in February in his first career defeat while it’s Diaz’s first fight since he left the UFC after fighting out his deal.

Both Paul and Diaz are confident they will get the job done – and do so by stoppage – but Masvidal thinks it will be a tougher fight than Paul thinks, as he says Diaz’s cardio and pressure could give him fits.

‘He is going to be a Decent Boxer’

“Nate is definitely going to have the experience over you and he’s got crazy endurance,” Masvidal said to Paul on the YouTuber’s BS with Jake Paul podcast. “I think the opening round is going to tell me a lot… He has got great cardio and I think especially in boxing, he’s going to make an easy transition. I would think out of all the categories you could have in martial arts, boxing is something that comes very natural to him. He is going to be a decent boxer.”

It is an intriguing breakdown and although no prediction was shared, the cardio of Jake Paul is something Jorge Masvidal will be paying close attention to. Even Diaz has wanted this fight to be 12 rounds so he can use his cardio as an advantage the longer the fight goes.

Currently, Jake Paul is a sizeable -340 favorite with Nate Diaz being a +240 underdog so the oddsmakers believe Paul will defeat the UFC veteran with ease in August. Even Paul said his team told him boxing Diaz would be a tough challenge but it is something he wanted to do.

“My team wanted me to take an easy fight like KSI next, but that’s not how I am built. Nate Diaz is considered one of the most bad-ass fighters of all time, but he and his team have been running their mouths for too long. People tell me Nate has been training with Andre Ward for years. That he has insane stamina. That he refuses to back down. Good for f*****g Nate. I haven’t forgotten about the slap backstage in Arizona, and on August 5th, a Problem Child is going to piece up and knock out the Stockton G,” Paul said in the press release.

Jake Paul is currently 6-1 as a pro and looking to return to the win column against Nate Diaz.
