Jake Paul is none too pleased with how Nate Diaz has been promoting their August 5 boxing match.

Paul and Diaz will collide inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. When the matchup was first announced, many expected the Stockton Native and “The Problem Child” to engage in some heated trash talk, and possibly even get physical by now.

That hasn’t been the case.

Jake Paul Slams Nate Diaz For Being “Boring”

Jake Paul recently spoke to Mike Bohn of MMAJunkie. When asked about the buildup for the bout lacking the hostility that usually comes with a Nate Diaz fight, Paul admitted that it’s been frustrating.

“Yeah, that’s what I wanted,” Paul said. “That’s [why] I signed up for this is to give the people a show and to squash this beef. He talked a lot more s**t to me before we signed up to fight. So, he’s kind of being a b*tch in that sense. I expected more out of him and I expected him to carry that gangster attitude and to not take my insults and all this stuff, but pretty much he’s rolled over like a b*tch and has been quite boring, which pisses me off. I’m used to carrying these promotions, and I guess that’s no different with this one.

“I think it’s going to surprise everyone. This is the most amount of interest we’ve had in terms of ticket sales, live gate. We’re pretty much all sold out. The highest average ticket prices for any of my fights.”

It’s quite clear that Paul is hoping to light a fire under Diaz before they meet in the ring next month. “The Problem Child” tried goading Diaz into engaging with him in the trash talk during the first press conference for their fight, but things were rather tame.

Since then, Paul has publicly vented about expecting more from the former UFC title contender in terms of pre-fight hype. Whether this is a tactic on Diaz’s part, or if he’s simply in the been there, done that stage of his career remains to be seen.
