A young boxer passes away after collapsing following his latest fight.
This is such tragic news to hear. Kenneth Egano, who was only 22 years old and sponsored by the great Manny Pacquiao, passed away after collapsing in the ring during his eighth professional fight against Jason Facularin at the Imus Sports Gymnasium in Imus, Philippines this past Saturday. It’s heartbreaking to lose someone so young and talented in such a way. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and the entire boxing community. Rest in peace, Kenneth Egano.

The match was held on “Blow by Blow,” a TV series hosted by Manny Pacquiao that features boxing in the Philippines. During the bout, Jason Facularian knocked down Kenneth Egano, but he was able to recover and continue fighting. Tragically, after the eight-round bantamweight fight was over, Egano collapsed in his corner before the official result was announced.
When the medical staff rushed to help Egano, one of his cornermen had to support him as he was unable to sit on a stool. The doctors immediately provided him with an oxygen mask as soon as they entered the ring.

Doctors at a nearby hospital concluded that Egano experienced a brain hemorrhage while he was fighting. Sadly, he fell into a coma earlier this week and couldn’t recover from his injuries. He passed away from complications.
During his career, Egano was known for his promising skills and had a record of 7 wins and 1 loss, with three knockouts. Pacquiao, who sponsored Egano’s boxing career, offered to cover his medical expenses while he was in the hospital. However, Pacquiao hasn’t made any public statements about Egano’s passing.
