Dillon Danis, a fighter with a perfect 2-0 record in the welterweight division, has been released from his contract with Bellator MMA, which is led by Scott Coker. This means that his two-fight journey with Bellator has come to an end.
Danis hasn’t competed in MMA since his first-round armbar submission win against Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in New York City. However, he made a return to combat sports by participating in a professional boxing match against Logan Paul. The match took place in Manchester and ended with Danis being disqualified.
Before and after his boxing match, Danis, who also trains with Conor McGregor, expressed his desire to make his debut in the UFC. He mentioned that he’d be open to fighting well-known fighters like Nate Diaz, Khamzat Chimaev, and Kevin Holland. After his boxing match, it seems that Danis is now free to explore new opportunities and markets, as he has officially been released from his contract with Bellator MMA.
“Dillon Danis is a free agent,” Ariel Helwani posted on his official X account on Saturday. “Bellator officially released Danis this weekend, sources say.”

Danis Calls Out Islam Makhachev
Dillon Danis, a highly skilled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert, began his MMA journey in 2018 with a Bellator MMA win, securing victory with a toe hold submission against Kyle Walker. However, his career was hampered by a series of knee injuries, which required multiple surgeries.

Danis has made it clear that he wants to be part of the UFC, and now that he’s no longer under contract with any other organization, that door is wide open for him.
Now, after his release from Bellator MMA, Danis wasted no time and set his sights on Islam Makhachev, the lightweight champion from last night’s UFC 294 main event. He expressed his intention to face Makhachev, even vowing to “play with” the champion who delivered a thunderous first-round high-kick knockout against Alexander Volkanovski in their title fight rematch.
