Former UFC heavyweight Greg Hardy made his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut at the promotion’s third annual KnuckleMania event. Emanating from the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, KnuckleMania 3 brought out some of the biggest names in combat sports for a night of pure violence. Stepping in to welcome Hardy to the squared circle was Josh Watson, a 6-4 mixed martial artist who is 1-1 under the BKFC banner ahead of Friday night’s showdown.
Round 1
Josh Watson came leaping off the line, immediately attacking Greg Hardy. Watson continued to put pressure on his much bigger opponent. Hardy lands a big uppercut and Watson responds with a left hook. Hardy missed a lead left hook and eats a jab from Watson. Hardy begins working the jab as Watson begins breathing heavily after the furious first 90 seconds. Hardy throws a jab and eats a massive left hook that drops him. Hardy stayed on his feet only due to the ropes and is therefore ruled a knockdown as the round comes to a close.
Round 2
Greg Hardy steps in with a jab in the opening seconds. Watson ducks under and delivers a brutal lopping left hook that drops Hardy once again. Hardy is unable to answer the referee’s count and the bout is called off in the opening seconds of round two.
Official Result: Josh Watson def. Greg Hardy via KO at 0:19 of Round 2
