Chris Leben Is Ready For A Tough Outing At BKFC 6

Former UFC fighter Chris Leben is set to face Brennan Ward at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 6. Although he has had quick victories in his first two bare-knuckle bouts, he is expecting more this time around.

Leben is competing on the event which features a heated bout between Artem Lobov and Paulie Malignaggi. After the wild press conference, Leben spoke about how excited he is for the headlining bout. (via MMA News)

One thing’s for sure man, I wanna watch that fight I’ll tell you that right now. This press conference and the ending for me, it definitely sold the fight. Yeah man, I don’t know, that’s not me. I wouldn’t disrespect my opponent like that personally, but I definitely wanna see what happens. These two guys do not like each other.”

As far as his bout goes, Leben is preparing for the worst. He is 2-0 in bare-knuckle competition. Both of his bouts ended in quick fashion, most recently in 15 seconds. However, he believes the streak of quick knockouts is over.

No way man. I had two quick knockouts, no way the third one’s gonna be quick. I’m preparing for a bloodbath and I mean that’s the only way you can look at it. You cry in the dojo, you laugh on the battlefield. And every fight I prepare for a war. I visualize a war in my head. You know what? On the 22nd if something else happens, that’s great. But you know what? I’m ready to go to war.”

Chris Leben is taking on Bellator veteran Brennan Ward in the co-main event of BKFC 6. Both fighters are known for their exciting styles, so this contest should be no exception.
