Legendary fighter Georges St-Pierre enters the liquor business with his own line of vodka called ‘Pur Sang.’
Former UFC two-division champion Georges St-Pierre is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Having started his professional career in Jan. 2002, St-Pierre made his way to the UFC two years later in 2004, and got off to a successful start against Karo Parisyan. He went on to become the welterweight champion and cemented his status as arguably the best 170-pound fighter in the history of the promotion. What makes his run even more impressive is that he avenged both of his only losses against Matt Serra and Matt Hughes.
UFC icon Georges St-Pierre debuts ‘Pur Sang’ vodka line
In a recent post made on Instagram, Georges St-Pierre unveiled his new brand of vodka called ‘Pur Sang,’ which launched in his native land of Canada. St-Pierre partnered with Rock Spirits to launch the product. The vodka is available in Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation stores with plans to expand nationwide in the near future.
“The last time I had a glass of vodka at 9am in the morning was at my after-after party for one of my fights in Las Vegas,” he wrote. “Today is for the official launch of my Vodka Pur Sang in St-John’s Newfoundland.”
“It was very important for me that the product was made in Canada, not anywhere else in the world,” he told CBC News. “Even though we are going to go worldwide I wanted my product to be authentic as the person I am.
“When I came out with that product I want it to be premium to make sure everything that I put into my body, and my customers’ bodies is premium ingredients.”
St-Pierre becomes another high-profile UFC star to get into the liquor business
‘Rush’ comes as the latest addition to the list of UFC fighters with their own liquor brands. Former two-division champion Conor McGregor made headlines for launching his whiskey brand ‘Proper No. Twelve’ in September 2018. The whiskey was a huge commercial success and netted ‘The Notorious’ and his partners an eye-watering $600 million at the time of sale in Apr. 2021.
Jorge Masvidal followed in McGregor’s footsteps by joining the industry with his own tequila brand. He released ‘Recuerdo Mezcal’ during a UFC press conference in 2020. The ‘BMF’ titleholder founds immense success in the business venture, indicating an optimistic future ahead for St-Pierre’s new line.
