Aline Pereira looks to follow in her brother Alex’s footsteps.
There’s a new brother-sister combo looking to take over the UFC, and their last name is Pereira. ‘Poatan’ only needed three wins in the UFC to challenge Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title at UFC 281. Meanwhile, Aline is looking to replicate her brother’s success after transitioning from GLORY Kickboxing to MMA. She recently spoke with MMAFighting and had this to say:
“I’ve been following my brother’s footsteps since the beginning. I [sign with] every promotion he fights, I go after him everywhere he goes, so [the transition to MMA] happened naturally. I already knew that I would also follow him if he went to MMA.”
Once the MMA community found out ‘Poatan’ had a sister who fights, footage of Aline fighting in GLORY started to make the rounds on social media. She fought three times in GLORY, with a record of 2-1, and her most impressive performance against Crystal Lawson caught MMA fans’ attention.

Aline Pereira will make professional MMA debut six days after her brother Alex fights at UFC 281
Aline Pereira signed with Legacy Fighting Alliance, which has been a direct path for fighters to get the UFC’s attention. The former GLORY kickboxer will make her professional MMA debut six days after Alex Pereira fights at UFC 281. Her opponent for LFA 147 is Helen Peralta, who was on the latest season of the Ultimate Fighter. LFA made the announcement on Instagram by saying:

Pereira will compete in the women’s flyweight division to start her MMA career. It’s difficult to create expectations, but the aura around ‘Poatan’ is rubbing off on Aline. The question is, can her grappling skills match her phenomenal kickboxing to create a world-champion MMA fighter?
