Zuffa’s algorithm chooses Chad Griggs to leave Strikeforce and join the UFC

With Zuffa deciding to fold the Strikeforce heavyweight division, we’re gonna see the UFC heavyweight division swell and I’m as excited as a 10-year-old being presented with a giant birthday cake after having just seen Erika Eleniak pop out of one in Under Siege. If you’ve seen that movie, then you will know what I’m talking about and understand that the only way I could be more excited is if I woke up and found myself magically transported to Evolve HQ in Singapore.

We already know that Fabricio Werdum is going to face Roy Nelson his return to the UFC but further names have eluded us…until now. MMAWeekly.com has reported Chad Griggs will be moving to the UFC in 2012, with his debut expected to come early in the year. A former Tuscon Scorpion in the IFL, Griggs has never gone to a decision and holds an 11-1 record with notable wins over Bobby Lashley and Valentijn Overeem in Strikeforce. Oh, and he also has awesome sideburns. If only we could convince him to ‘do a TWAS’ and shave them into star burns in homage to the Community character. Let’s just hope that my disappointment as a 10-year-old at not being presented with a stripper for my birthday isn’t felt by Chad Griggs in his UFC debut. [Source]
