- Chael Sonnen claims he has some “inside scoop” about Nate Diaz
- “The Bad Guy” suggested that the UFC is working on Diaz vs. Chimaev
To this day, Nate Diaz has yet to book a fight in the UFC. Shortly after Jake Paul claimed that there was an offer to fight Diaz, Chael Sonnen is now sharing some seemingly believable stuff about the UFC veteran’s next fight.
UFC is cooking Diaz vs. Chimaev?
On his YouTube channel, Sonnen he “got a little inside scoop” regarding what’s about to happen to Diaz in the UFC. If “The Bad Guy” is telling the truth, then the promotion is working on a Nate Diaz vs. Khamzat Chimaev match.
“I got a little inside scoop for you guys, which is Diaz has accepted a fight,” Sonnen said. “Diaz has a fight coming up. I gotta stop right there. I don’t know who the opponent is and I’m not holding that from you. And we know Chimaev and Nate have been associated together for a period of time now.”
“I’m not announcing for you guys that it’s Diaz vs. Chimaev,” he added. “I’m sharing some inside … Diaz has a fight. That I’m sharing with you guys. Is it Chimaev?”
Long been brewing
In all fairness, Sonnen’s claim may be bold, but it also makes sense as the Diaz vs. Chimaev fight has long been touted to happen. It can be recalled that in November, UFC president Dana White himself revealed that they have offered the Chimaev fight to Nate prior to UFC 267. From then on, the feeling is that it’s edging closer to reality as the match even appeared in the infamous leaked UFC 276 card.
The Last fight?
Over the years, Diaz fights have always been electrifying. But what makes his rumored next fight even more interesting is that it could be his last fight under the UFC banner.
It’s no secret that Diaz’s current deal with the promotion is coming to an end and he made his fans know about it once again on social media.

There’s still no confirmation from the UFC at this point, but from the look of it, the fans are also rooting for Diaz vs. Chimaev.
