We have good news for people that love bad news about Nick Ring

If you love bad news about Nick Ring, then you’re just not American. You’re probably Canadian — which basically dictates that you’re not American. Well, you may have dual-citizenships and still love bad news about Nick Ring. Hmph, I didn’t get that far into my logical argument this morning. I’m still acknowledging the fact that I’m in Montreal and 90% of the people don’t speak English. When I order food and it comes out incorrectly, there’s no way to verbally tell them that it’s wrong. Instead, I have to resort to the traditional finger wag as popularized by Nick Ring back in The Ultimate Fighter Season 11.

Quite frankly it was up to me, Nick Ring would be on the front of every story just to give each of you the ceremonial head shake/finger wave combo. My god this hypnotic gif of Nick Ring. The dude puts so much physical effort just to say ‘Oh no you didn’t’ that it’s almost admirable. Props to Nick Ring for removing seven minutes of my life staring at that gif — and teaching me how to communicate in French (along with every other language that understands the finger wag).

Unfortunately, it’s time to get to the bad news. Nick Ring is out of tonight’s UFC 154 with an extraordinarily high fever. According to MMAFighting, the doctor made the call this morning to pull him from his fight against Costa Philippou which leaves both fighters essentially ‘fightless’ for UFC 154. In exchange, Mark Bocek vs. Rafael dos Anjos has been moved to the PPV portion of the card and Antonio Carvalho vs. Rodrigo Damm has been transitioned from Facebook to FX. Bummer for Nick Ring fans all around.
