We interviewed Hector Lombard back in 2010 and it was so bizarre that we never published it on MiddleEasy. Seriously, we went through all the agita of working with Bellator’s public relations department to finally nail an interview with their middleweight champion and it was so strange that even we couldn’t spin it into something coherent and enjoyable. From what I remember, Hector just gave us a plethora of one sentence responses, mostly just repeating the name of his opponent at the time, which was Herbert Goodman. Literally, we would ask Hector about his training leading up to the fight and he would just scream Herbert Goodman over the phone. That’s why we know not to interact with Hector Lombard. It’s best to just observe him at a distance and give him a polite head nod when he looks in your direction.
Fortunately Fuel TV Australia has provided this micro-documentary for us to get a closer glimpse into Hector Lombard’s philosophy without actually getting close to Hector Lombard. Check it out.
