This is the collision of two fighters with an equal score (0-1). CM Punk comes from WWE, and it is highly questionable can he show his performance inside the octagon in a proper way. On the other hand, Mike Jackson is a sports journalist, a photographer, and also a fighter from time to time, so at least you can say that opponents are even. Both are defeated by Mickey Gall. CM Punk has a hometown advantage, and this is a fight of the striker versus mixed martial artist and a former WWE superstar!
Round 1
Cm Punk keeps his hands high and misses a right low kick. Jackson holds distance great and excellent right punch, Punk goes for a takedown and great clinch. Punk holds him against the fence but Jackson turns him over and now CM is against the cage. On the center again both fighters, CM Punk is a low slower for not. Great right hand by Punk!
Punk eats few punches but pushes his opponent against the cage! Mike Jackson tries to move CM’s hands, for now, the fight is pretty much stalemate. CM Punk goes for a takedown, Jackson defends with a guillotine choke and both fighters are in the clinch again… what is the referee doing here?! Why isn’t he warn them? Bad kicks by Punk and he misses. Jackson defends one more takedown attempt.
Spectacular Takedown!
Punk looks tired. Jackson dances around CM, but Punk takes him down… Jackson in trouble, Punk passes to half-guard. Great elbow by CM, but Jackson stands up! What an elbow by Jackson to finish the round! Jackson landed more clean shots.
Round 2
Punk’s nose is bleeding. Brooks chases Jackson around the octagon, but Jackson with great boxing, Punk tries a takedown again. Great knee to the stomach by CM! CM Punk goes forward but eats strong right hand. Brooks shows his teeth and tries standing guillotine choke, Jackson falls over him, full guard! Both fighters doing nothing…
Jackson tries the right hand but no effect… the crowd starts to boo! Jackson misses with his punches, Punk does nothing from the bottom, except of few bad strikes. Jackson hits with the left hand to the hand, Punk is bleeding! On Punk almost landed a triangle!
Few more body shots by Jackson. Punk pulls him towards himself. What a left hand by Jackson. CM Punk tries to sweep but a very sloppy. Brooks goes to a high guard. Jackson does nothing.
Brutal Elbow!
And a great right elbow, Punk is in trouble but he recovers. Few punches by CM Punk and the round ends. Punk bleeds heavily!
The most of the round CM Punk was on his back, round for Jackson. Jackson looks fresh, while CM is very fatigued.
Round 3
Fighters shake hands and Punk goes for jab right cross… great clinch. Jackson pushes him against the cage again. The fight is boring again! Punk has no power at all, he goes for a strange takedown attempt and misses. Punk almost falls! Great takedown defense by Jackson and he reaches full guard again. Jackson wants Punk to stand up!
Both fighters in the stand-up again. Mike Jackson hits with a big right. Clinch again, and a flying knee attempt by Punk, both fighters against the cage again! Brutal right hand by Jackson and CM is rocked. CM misses punches and Mike Jackson plays with him, he probably doesn’t want to finish him despite he holds his back. Again Jackson ends up in the top position.
Jackson mounts his back!
CM is in trouble, Jackson works on the top of him, and he almost doesn’t defend. Looks like Jackson doesn’t want to finish the fight. Awesome side mounts to north and south. Jackson controls the position and fights him with punches to the body. Punk does nothing! Punk grabs his leg and ends on top. The end of the match!
All three referees scored 30-26, victory over Mike Jackson!
