The bout will be a part of a special two-night event dubbed, “Caged Aggression XXVI: Bad Blood.” Miletich and Jackson will share the cage on night two, which takes place on October 14. The event’s promoter, Mike Goodwin, told Nolan King of MMAJunkie that this will be a sanctioned pro MMA bout scheduled for three, five-minute rounds.

Pat Miletich vs. Mike Jackson – How Did We Get Here?

At one point, Mike Jackson linked up with Miletich to help him prepare for a UFC bout against CM Punk. The relationship between Jackson and Miletich soured after the UFC Hall of Famer was called out by Jackson for attending the Capitol Hill protests, which ended up being a riot. Miletich has insisted he wasn’t involved in nefarious activities, but he was fired from his commentary position with LFA over his presence.

A press release was issued detailing the history between Miletich and Jackson, as well as what led to this fight scheduled for the fall.

“The history leading up to this momentous bout is rife with intrigue and controversy. Jackson, with his charismatic and controversial personality, had a brief but impactful career in the UFC. His connection with Pat Miletich came to the forefront when he sought Miletich’s guidance and cornering for his highly publicized fight against former professional wrestler CM Punk.

“However, the aftermath of that fight took an unexpected turn after Miletich attended the Trump rally in Washington DC on January 6th, 2021, in which Jackson wrote a contentious article accusing Miletich of racism due to his attendance and controversial photos that emerged from this event. The ensuing allegations led to Miletich’s departure from Legacy Fighting Championship (LFA) and a purported blacklisting from MMA commentating, fueling Miletich’s desire for payback.”

Miletich was actually in combat sports action as recently as 2020. He dropped a split decision to Michael Dunn in a kickboxing match. Time will tell if he will have better luck against Jackson.
