Some friendships don’t last forever. That would be the case for Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.

Former Friends To Bitter Rivals

What used to be an amazing bond has now turned into a heated rivalry between the two. The grudge match between former roommates and teammates is set to take place in the main event of UFC 272. The fight would come after years and years of trash talk and malice against each other.

The rivalry between the welterweight contenders would form as a result of Covington ‘turning heel’ back in 2017. The longtime friends would grow distant after ‘Chaos’ threw on his controversial  ‘gimmick’ to promote himself. Not long after that, they’d become hostile to each other rather than friendly.

‘The Good Old Days’

Present day shows us a hateful relationship between ‘Gamebred’ and his arch nemesis. But this wouldn’t stop Masvidal from going back in time. He’d revisit the past and post a sad video compilation of him being friends with Colby.

It was quite sad to see. Thanks for putting the melancholic music over it, Masvidal.

Masvidal would post this as like a history lesson regarding him and Covington. The blast from the past would showcase many videos of him and Covington getting along. It would start with Masvidal taking Covington under his wing and letting him live under his roof.

The two would train together, party together, play video games among many other things. One clip even showed Covington and Masvidal pushing a out-of-gas car all the way to a gas station. The brotherhood was real and it was visible in videos we had never seen before. It was wholesome for the most part.

However, Masvidal didn’t post this video to only reminisce. He’d showcase soundbites of him talking about the friendship and how it went sour. You can find the entire video below.
