The UFC Orlando main card featured a middleweight clash on Saturday night between Kyle Daukaus and Eryk Anders. Looking to get back into the win column, Daukaus entered the bout as a -225 favorite. Coming up short in his last outing against Roman Dolidze in June, ‘The D’Arce Knight’ was determined to hand the +185 Anders his third straight loss inside the Octagon.
Round 1
Daukause came out immediately throwing calf kicks as Anders took the center of the Octagon. Anders attempted to close the distance but ate two more heavy calf kicks. Daukaus threw a high kick that was caught by Anders and dumped Daukaus to the canvas. Letting Daukaus back to his feet, Anders landed a big right hand that dropped Daukaus. Anders once again let his opponent get back to his feet Anders continued to stalk Daukaus, but with 20 seconds to go in the round, an incidental headbutt dropped Daukaus bringing a stop to the action temporarily. Once the fight restarted, Anders landed another glancing overhand left that put Daukaus on the mat again as the round comes to a close.
Round 2
Likely compromised from the incidental headbutt, Daukaus went to his wrestling in the second round, pushing Anders to the fence and fighting for a single leg, but to no avail. Daukaus dropped to the mat as Anders peppered him with calf kicks until the referee brings Daukaus back to his feet. Almost immediately, Anders landed another solid shot that sent Daukaus crashing to the canvas. Anders swarmed in, dropping some ground and pound until the referee had seen enough.
Official Result: Eryk Anders defeats Kyle Daukaus via TKO (strikes) at 2:45 of Round 2
