Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos called out Conor McGregor during his UFC Orlando post-fight interview on Saturday night.

RDA got back into the win column by submitting streaking welterweight standout Bryan Barberena in the second round via a rear-naked choke. During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, RDA called for a fight with the Irish superstar.

“Conor McGregor, seven years ago I earned this fight,” dos Anjos said. “We were supposed to fight, I broke my foot. He has a couple of months to clean his body of all the stuff he is taking. Here I am. I will see you in July.”

RDA added to his callout of McGregor during the UFC Orlando post-fight press conference, saying:

“Look at my resume, I fought everybody,” dos Anjos said. “I need to fight somebody, I think I earned this fight. I will not ask UFC for extra crazy paydays, I just want to have that fight. And yeah, July works perfect for me. We’ll see what happens.”

Rafael dos Anjos Comments on Conor McGregor’s Withdrawing From USADA Testing Pool

Asked about the reveal that Conor McGregor had pulled himself out of the USADA testing pool, RDA appears to believe that McGregor has been using banned substances during his time away from the Octagon, but is willing to give the former two-division champion time to make things right.

“Yeah, he’s out of USADA,” dos Anjos said. “Why he’s out of the pool? His body looks so different but I’ll give him some time to get clear.”

Rafael dos Anjos was originally slated to defend his lightweight title against Conor McGregor in 2016. Unfortunately, RDA was forced to withdraw after breaking his foot in training. RDA was replaced by Nate Diaz. Upon his return, RDA would lose the lightweight title to Eddie Alvarez putting himself and McGregor on different career paths.
