Former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov and former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum faced off in the main event of tonight’s UFC fight night 127 at the O2 Arena in London, England, broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
Alexander Volkov becomes the third man to ever knockout ex-UFC champion Fabricio Werdum at 1:38 of the fourth round.
Alexander Volkov coped with Fabricio Werdum’s vaunted ground game in the opening round, but “Drago” was able to survive on the mat early before finishing his opponent on the feet late.
Volkov has now earned back-to-back stoppage 30-6, who was as much as a +180 underdog, has now won six straight and this victory that will put him in serious conversation for a title shot, while Werdum sees a two-fight winning streak snapped.
