UFC 285 just received an epic new trailer ahead of the historic pay-per-view (PPV) event, that will see Jon Jones make his heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane for the vacant division title. All the action will go down on March 4 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In the main event, Jones, the longtime king of the 205-pound division, will step up to heavyweight and take on Ciryl Gane, an ex-interim UFC heavyweight champion. The pair will be competing for the undisputed UFC heavyweight title that Francis Ngannou left behind upon entering free agency and leaving the promotion.
UFC 285 Gets New Trailer
The UFC just released a trailer for the event on their YouTube channel, hyping Jones’ return by suggesting “The GOAT is back.” It also features the co-main event that will see Valentina Shevchenko defend her women’s flyweight title against Alexa Grasso.
Check it out here:
This will be Jones’ first fight in over three years since successfully defending his then-light heavyweight title against Dominik Reyes. Since, he has taken time to put on lean muscle and prepare for his long-awaited debut at heavyweight. Now, the time has come, and he’ll go head-to-head with one of the division’s most feared strikers in Gane.
Gane comes off a big knockout win over Tai Tuivasa, which avenged Gane’s first and only loss in his MMA career, where he was beaten via decision back in January of 2022 in a heavyweight title match with Francis Ngannou. Now, the pair will collide for the UFC’s ultimate prize on March 4.
