Bethe Correia Misses Weight By Five Pounds For UFC 237 Fight Against Irene Aldana

Earlier today promotion held the UFC 237 weigh-ins from Brazil.

After almost two years away from the Octagon former UFC bantamweight title contender, Bethe Correia is making her return against Irene Aldana this Saturday night (May 11, 2019) from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It’s good news she’s making her return as the division and fans want her to be back, but the bad side is that Correia missed the weight by whopping five pounds for her 135-pound showdown against Aldana. For non-title fights one pound allowance is ok, but she tipped the scale at 141.

Brazilian commission CABMMA fined Correia as she’ll be forfeiting a 30 percent of her purse to Aldana. Despite that, the fight remains intact.

Earlier today UFC 237 lost a lightweight showdown between Diego Ferreira vs. Francisco Trinaldo from the main card after commission discover that Ferreira had kidney stones and he never made it to the scale.

Correia is currently riding on a rough patch after starting her MMA career at 9-0, then went 1-3-1 over her last five fights.
