Tony Ferguson has finally broken his silence after suffering  a nasty second-round knockout loss to Michael Chandler at UFC 274.

Tony Ferguson breaks his silence

Ferguson was knocked out by Chandler on the main card of the UFC 274 pay-per-view (PPV) in the second round. Chandler landed a beautiful front-kick to the face that landed perfectly, shutting Ferguson’s lights out early in the second round. It was the first time in his career that Ferguson was knocked unconscious.

Unfortunately, Ferguson was transported to a nearby hospital after the fight, and did not get to speak out during the post-fight press conference. Now, taking to Twitter days later, Ferguson has broken his silence on the matter. “El Cucuy” handled the loss with class, congratulating Chandler and even wishing him luck in his next fight.

“Congratulations to @MikeChandlerMMA On his victory at UFC 274. Had lots of fun in there, you fans are Fuckin’ wild I love this shit! Feels good to be back & hungry again. We were just getting started. Best Of Luck In Your Next Fight”

The 38-year-old Ferguson is now facing a four-fight losing streak after his loss to Chandler. Ferguson’s last victory came in 2019 against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. The former interim 155-pound champion faced some criticism for his performance in his last several fights, however, Ferguson looked tremendous in the early going of his fight with Chandler.

The rise of Michael Chandler

Ferguson, arguably, won the first round before being knocked out in the second. With that being said, the spotlight now shifts to Chandler, who breaks his own two-fight losing streak and now looks to get back in the mix for the 155-pound title.

Of course, the time has never been better to position yourself for a title opportunity, as the belt is currently vacant after Charles Oliveira’s weight-miss.

Chandler cut an amazing promo after his win over Ferguson, calling for either a title shot next, or a big fight with Conor McGregor.
