I will support Yuichiro ‘Jienotsu’ Nagashima’s cross-dressing (under the guise of ‘cosplay’) as much as I can stand horribly written Japanese anime. I’ve never owned ‘Ghost in the Shell‘ or any of those other cartoons that are the pinnacle of Japanese animation. Quite frankly, I’m under the belief that modern animation died after FOX’s ‘Silver Surfer.’ It was a cartoon conceived and animated by the original creator of Marvel’s Silver Surfer comic. The show ran for one complete season before being scrapped for the second season due to Marvel’s bankruptcy problems in the late 90s. Eight episodes were written by Silver Surfer’s creator, but they’ve literally been sitting on his desk for over a decade. Hopefully one day those scripts will see the light of day, but in the meantime check out this promo of Jienotsu vs. Kikuno for DREAM’s NYE event. [Source]
