The injury fairy punks UFC again. Vitor Belfort is out of UFC 112

My backyard is infested with four leaf clovers. I still haven’t won the lottery yet. My four leaf clover infestation hasn’t helped out Vitor Belfort either. Tatame Magazine broke the news today that Vitor Belfort has been sidelined from his UFC 112 bout with Anderson Silva due to a shoulder injury. Dude is out. Done. Remember when Chael Sonnen said he was training to fight Anderson Silva just in case Belfort dropped out? Well Sonnen was handed a 30-day ‘no-contact’ medical suspension which means he can’t train until March 9th and fight until March 24th. That gives Chael approximately a month to train for the biggest fight of his life…all while running for state representative of Oregon.

That leaves a handful of 185lbers and Light Heavyweights out there that could tangle with Ando. If, by some cosmic mishap, we had to choose an opponent for Anderson Silva…it would have to be Jon Bones Jones. Sure he couldn’t win the middleweight title, but at 205 it would be more than an interesting fight for Anderson Silva. Demian Maia is out there (and healthy) at 185 along with an injury free Patrick Cote. Oh, there’s always Minowaman. MMA’s all-time quarterback. [Source]
