The Fireball Kid didn’t throw any Hadoukens, but he still got the win over Mac Danzig

They gathered in the streets, put on their beanies and screamed ‘PRIDE never die,’ giving their neighbors #RudeAwakenings and orange juice spit-takes all over their TVs and computer monitors. Gomi and Mac Danzig battled this morning/evening/afternoon in China on UFC: Macao, and Gomi came out on top. Today is good day for Japanophiles, Street Fighter fans and people interested in time zones.

Every time Gomi tried to press ↓, ↘, → it was nullified by Mac Danzig and his incessant wrestling and takedowns. But that was fine, in the end Gomi may not have been able to throw any Hadoukens or sh*t, but he was able to string together enough offense and sprawls to lower Danzig’s life bar just below his. So when the clock ran out, it was Gomi who was declared the winner amidst the boos of China’s MMA fans. Gomi now has two wins in a row in the UFC, and the Fireball kid did it with more ease than the split-decision suggests… At least in our opinion.
