Dan Henderson signed with Strikeforce and got an instant title shot. This is unlike Jay Hieron who signed with Strikeforce for the sole purpose of getting a title shot…and instead, gets shafted. We talked to Jay Hieron last night and he told us that he couldn’t really comment on the matter but he will get back to us either today or tomorrow to ‘confirm everything’. Dude really didn’t seem angry, he just felt like he needed absolute confirmation from Strikeforce before he starts throwing televisions out of his window. Whenever we get in touch with him again, you guys will be the first to know. In the meantime, it looks like Dan Henderson vs. Jake Shields will go down on the CBS card with Fedor vs. Werdum headlining the card. Check out what Hendo said this Saturday regarding his upcoming bangemite fest.
“We’ll see what happens but that’s definitely a good possibility for my first fight. We’ll have to talk to Scott [Coker] here and hopefully Jake doesn’t run back down to 170.”
Scott Coker also offered Fedor as a potential fight for Hendo which makes that blonde Strikeforce reporter not seem so inappropriate last Saturday when she proposed the fight and Dan Henderson looked at her as if she had a galaxy growing out of her neck. [Source]
