I never knew the combined words of ‘Cody’ and ‘Stevens’ formed the name of an MMA fighter until I received the ONE FC press release that he would be Shinya Aoki’s opponent in his featherweight debut. The 11-5-1 31-year-old hails from Mansfield, Ohio yet he fights out of Tiger Muay-Thai in Phuket, Thailand. October 18th will mark Stevens’ first televised in his five-year long career, and we thought it would only be appropriate to show you this guy before Shinya Aoki does what Shinya Aoki does at ONE FC 11. We’re not necessarily saying Cody Stevens is going to lose to Aoki. There was Jienotsu Nagashima, a relatively unknown kickboxer that knocked out Aoki is a bizarre special-rules bout — but that’s really it.
However that’s beyond the point. If Cody Stevens does defeat Shinya Aoki, it could be one of the greatest upsets in 2013 — and if it does happen you probably will want to watch this video to see who exactly this guy is.
