Showtime presents Tim Kennedy and Luke Rockhold in: Breaking Rules

With more events than ever before, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to promote a fight in 2012 and Showtime has been left with the task to promote a middleweight championship fight between two normal looking dudes with comb-overs that have probably cleaned their gutters more than party this fiscal year. So what did Showtime do? They turned lemons into limoncello with a quirky twist of the peel. I liken this as the Strikeforce middleweight championship version of the scene in Heat when Robert Deniro and Al Pacino finally sit face to face in the diner with a braces-less Frank Shamrock thrown in to instigate.

This is Bones/Rashad level beef people, and as you can see in the banner above, Tim and Luke swagger jacked each others T-shirt and jeans look, as well as the single syllable first name. July 14th it’s on!
