Shavkat Rakhmonov believes he can beat some of the biggest names in MMA and boxing.

The upcoming UFC 285 fight card is stacked from top to bottom. From current and former champions to rising up-and-comers the star power is unreal. One man who is looking to skyrocket from prospect to outright contender is Shavkat Rakhmonov. The 28-year-old Kazakhstani fighter will be taking on the veteran Geoff Neal on the main card. This will be a tough test for Rakhmonov but he seems to be beaming with confidence coming into this one.

Rakhmonov was on hand during fight week to talk a little with the media about his fight camp and more. He is ready for this challenge and more difficult challenges in the future.

Shavkat Rakhmonov thinks he would be able to beat Tyson Fury

Rakhmonov came to the UFC back in 2021. He has only had three fights so far in the organization but has worked his way up to the number nine spot in the UFC welterweight rankings. Rakhmonov is currently undefeated and believes he would be able to beat most fighters inside the cage, even those who have a lofty size advantage. He was given a list of past and current champions in and outside the UFC to see which he thought he could beat.

The list of names he was given by RMC Sports Combat were Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards, Khamzat Chimaev, Islam Makhachev, Francis Ngannou, Tyson Fury, and Mike Tyson. Of those names the only one he would give the advantage to was Ngannou. He paused a bit when mentioning Makhachev but then said yes. He stated that he could beat Fury and Tyson in the MMA cage.

The way Rakhmonov has been dominating and running up the rankings he might have a chance to face a few of those names on the list very soon. With Usman and Edwards facing off again later this month, the loser would be a great match for Rakhmonov, if he can get past Neal.
