Brendan Schaub Urges Dana White To Lean Into Ngannou/Fury Promotion But Shy Away From Power Slap

Brendan Schaub thinks Dana White should be involved in the promotion of a boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury.

Brendan Schaub is not a fan of Dana White being involved with Power Slap.

Brendan Schaub is a former UFC fighter turned YouTuber. Because of his experience with the UFC, Schaub can often be seen talking about the UFC and other combat sports. Now he is taking aim at Dana White. Schaub believes that White is the best promoter in the world. He’s given him credit for the success of the 2017 boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. Now he believes that White should be involved in another big named boxing match as well.

The UFC parted ways with former champion Francis Ngannou earlier this year. Ngannou has been searching for a high-profile boxing match against some of the biggest named heavyweights in the world including Tyson Fury. He believes that if that bout is to happen Dana White should be involved.

“The bummer with that is if Francis goes on and fights Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, even Tyson Fury at some point that the UFC is not involved in it because for that to be a massive fight, you need the best promoter in the game Dana White,” he said on his YouTube page. “He needs to be part of it like it was for Conor and Floyd. That’s why that fight was so big. I think if he’s not involved with that fight it’s nowhere near as big. So with Francis going that route, that’s a bummer. If he gets those fights good for him, but it’s not gonna be the same as if the UFC had their hand in it.”

Brendan Schaub thinks Dana White is lowering the UFC with his involvement in Power Slap

Although Schaub is high on White’s promoting skills he is not happy that the UFC boss is taking over the slap-fighting world. Schaub explained that he is not a fan of slap fighting and believes that White’s involvement actually brings down the stock of the UFC.

“With Slap-Fight League when they’re suspending guys. I’m like, What are we doing here? They are in rashguards I want these guys on cocaine and steroids. They should be suspended if they’re not on cocaine,” he said. “I’m not a fan. I think it moves the ball backward for the UFC. I think, God bless them, I think there is a lane for it but I don’t think Dana should be involved in it. I think he should have been a silent investor and helped on the outside and not get so involved because the work Dana’s done to get to the UFC where it’s at worth, whatever $14 billion is on it’s insane. But when you go to slap fighting, it takes away because the lines get blurred.”

Dana White and former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta began Power Slap and have been pushing it hard as of late. It is often promoted on the UFC social media pages and White is claiming that it is growing faster than the UFC did in the early 90s.
