Rumble Johnson dropped 50lbs for UFC 104

While you were out bartering with your local 24/7 Mexican fast-food joint to get a free meal because you ‘found’ a hair in your burrito, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson was busy dropping weight. A lot of weight. Dude walks around at 220 and to make the welterweight cut for his UFC 104 bout against Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Rumble had to lose 50lbs. For all UK heads out there (and guys from Ireland, I know what the deal is), that’s over 3 and 1/2 stone. That’s roughly the mass of Bobby Lashley’s toe nail clipping pile whenever the dude gets a pedicure. We’re not accusing Bobby Lashley of getting a pedicure, we don’t even know what ‘pedicure’ fully means. We just know that it was a topic on an episode of The Golden Girls and it involves feet.

So what does this mean for Anthony Johnson? Well dude is enormously more susceptible to the force of police attack dogs. Actually, Anthony Johnson’s first loss came against Rich Clementi when he tried to cut weight but missed the mark by about 7.5lbs. He took the fight on short notice and he eventually lost a decision at UFC 76. Since he scored a 13 second KO over Chad Reiner just a few months before, the UFC just sort of let that loss slide and booked Rumble for his third UFC appearance in April 2008. Dude blew up Tommy Speer’s face in 51 seconds and everyone in the audience did their little Rumble Johnson dance. Now a year and a half later, Rumble is going to have his seventh fight in the UFC. Really I should have told you all this stuff in the beginning of the article but I’m a revolutionary. I’m out to change the face of paragraph placements. [Source]
