Miesha Tate can’t even catch a break in the digital recreation of her fight against Ronda Rousey. EA Sports developers literally crafted her to be inferior to Ronda Rousey, and has explicitly shown in this gameplay demo of Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate. Damn, I get bummed out when Miesha Tate loses — and the misogynist in me says I would be even more bummed out if Miesha Tate lost and she wasn’t dating Bryan Caraway. There’s something about being a white knight when a single chick is down that’s wildly appealing. It never works out, but it’s inside that fantasy that entire delusions and alternate universes (with you and her being madly in love) are created.
However if Ronda Rousey didn’t arm bar Miesha Tate in record time, then everyone would call EA Sports UFC fake and then hold some half-assed protest on an MMA message board against it. It’s a fine balance to appease MMA fans, but I think EA Sports UFC knocked it out of the ballpark with this gameplay video demonstrating the submission system.
