It has been a waiting game to see what Roberto Soldic‘s next move would be. On Monday, the world found out.

Soldic to ONE

After nine fights in KSW, Soldic has a new home. On The MMA Hour on Monday, the former KSW double champion announced that he has signed with ONE Championship.

“After I finished the KSW contract, and with so many [opportunities] including the UFC. I chose ONE FC, for sure,” Sodic told Ariel Helwani. “I chose ONE FC because it’s the biggest martial arts in the world, you know. They gave me an oppoertuniry to take all of the belts – kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, also boxing. So, this is something new. I want to create something for my people. My own legacy. So, I choose ONE FC.”

In the same interview, Soldic said the UFC did give him an offer; however, it was “good, but nothing serious.”

History

ONE Championship signing Soldic is massive as he is one of the best fighters in the world. He was the KSW double champion, holding their middleweight and welterweight championship belts.

Soldic won the welterweight belt in 2018 by defeating Dricus du Plessis via TKO. He defended the belt twice. ‘Robocop’ won the middleweight championship last December when he brutally knocked out Mamed Khalidov.

The 27-year-old doesn’t have a debut set, but with ONE Championship signing a deal with Amazon, there is a chance for Soldic to become an even bigger superstar.
