Rafael Dos Anjos Responds To Colby Covington’s Call Out, Willing To Wait For Title Shot

Rafael dos Anjos has continued his march to welterweight glory at the UFC on Fox 26 event in Winnipeg. The Brazillian is still undefeated in this weight division with a win over for former UFC champ Robbie Lawler in the main event of the night.

The win by unanimous decision takes dos Anjos’ record to 17-7 in the UFC. Lawler, being a former 170-pound champ, notched up his 6th loss at UFC level (13-6).

Not everyone was impressed by dos Anjos’ huge win. Colby Covington – who is really the only other man with a legitimate claim to a welterweight title shot – quickly took to social media to discredit his rival’s win and trashed Dos Anjos.

Rafael Dos Anjos speaking at UFC on Fox 26 post-fight press conference, where he addresses Covington’s call out.

“I have no comments about that guy, man,” dos Anjos said (h/t MMAJunkie.com). “That guy has 6,000 followers on Twitter. He’s just talking crap about people. He showed nothing to the division. He’s beat nobody. He beat Demian Maia, but he looked really bad when he fought Demian, and I have no comments on that guy.”

“I’m just on my way to a second belt,” dos Anjos said.

Rafael dos Anjos talks about the possibility of a fight with Tyron Woodley and shrugged off Covington’s call out.

“I think when (Woodley) fought Demian (Maia), he was worried about takedowns only,” dos Anjos said. “When he fought (Stephen) ‘Wonderboy’ (Thompson), he was worried only about stand-up. I think with me, he’s got to worry about everywhere. He’s going to have a lot of things to worry about.”

Dos Anjos looking for his golden opportunity for a title shot.

“I’m not a guy that talks so much to try and get a title shot, because I’m talking bad about people, cursing people,“I just go and do a great performance like I did tonight. I hope so. Dana White said that (the winner would get a title shot), and that’s what I hope.”

What do you guys think Dos Anjos Will get a title shot against Tyron Woodley?
