Puff, puff, pass the guard: The great “Does weed improve your jiu jitz?” debate

I have to admit, I didn’t really know there was any kind of real debate going on regarding this issue.  But, YouTube doesn’t lie. So there.

For those unaware, there’s a school of thought that rolling while under the influence of good ‘ol weed (aka mota or reefer or yerba or blaze, etc.)  is beneficial to one’s Jiu Jitsu.  Mistake me if I’m wrong, but I believe the thought is that rolling while high aids in a grappler’s creativity and focus.  There are a few well known grapplers/fighters out there who publicly support marijuana use, most notably ADCC veteran and grappling pioneer, Eddie Bravo of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu and Strikeforce Champ, Nick Diaz.

Crazy as it sounds, I myself often train under the influence of both Starbucks and Life Cereal combined, but that’s just how I roll (literally).
