Coming off an anticlimactic no-contest in his last outing, Pedro Munhoz took on Chris Gutierrez on the main card of UFC on ESPN 44 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Munhoz leaps on top and Gutierrez gets him in full guard. Munhoz moves around unleashing elbows from the top. Gutierrez holds onto his right arm to keep him close. Munhoz gets up and changes position in hopes of getting his back and he does. Gutierrez gets to his feet with Munhoz on his back. Munhoz rolls down. He gets up and lands an uppercut. Gutierrez with a low kick. Jab from Gutierrez. Counter jab from Gutierrez. Outside leg kick and body kick by Gutierrez.
Round 2
Gutierrez checks a low kick. He lands an outside leg kick. Munhoz coming forward, super aggressive. Nice jab from Gutierrez. They both exchange kicks right on the knee. Gutierrez checks an outside kick. Munhoz has not taken his foot off the gas as he keeps pushing forward. Munhoz lands two thigh kicks. Heavy outside low kick by Munhoz. Gutierrez lands one right back. Munhoz with a short right hook.

Gutierrez lands a nice right hand. Munhoz with an inside low kick. Munhoz keeps pressing forward. Big right hand from Munhoz rocks Gutierrez. Nice left hand from Gutierrez. Gutierrez keeps hitting the legs. Munhoz is pushing the pace. Lots of feints from both men. Two outside low kicks from Munhoz. Munhoz’s low kick gets checked. Munhoz lands a thigh kick. They trade low kicks. Munhoz with a thigh kick. Gutierrez with a right hand. Nice three jabs from Gutierrez on the step back. Munhoz shoots and misses. Gutierrez steps in with a big elbow. Outside thigh kick by Gutierrez. They end the bout on the floor.
