UFC CEO Dana White was in a giving mood on Thanksgiving as he broke two new fight announcements for fans.

Taking to his social media account, White revealed two new fights, while also confirming that Song Yadong will take on Chris Gutierrez in the main event on Dec. 9 and UFC 298 will take place in Anaheim, California.

The first fight that Dana White announced is that Jalin Turner has agreed to step up on nine days’ notice to face Bobby Green in the co-main event of UFC Austin next Saturday.

Green was supposed to face Dan Hooker but ‘The Hangman’ was forced to withdraw from the fight due to an arm injury. After the news, Green went on the Jaxson podcast to wonder if anyone would step up on short notice like he always does.

“I had to fight cats on 10 days notice, two weeks notice, or 24 hours notice, you know what I mean,” Bobby Green said on Jaxson podcast. “So now it’s the other end. The last time I had to fight Jim Miller, they told me to fight him on two weeks’ notice, jump in the gym, had to cut weight, get off the weed, and all clean up. Man, I ended up passing out after weigh-ins, I made the weight, I passed out, I went to the hospital. They said one of my kidneys failed and one of my lungs collapsed. Now it’s y’all turn to do this shit and see if you are going to do this shit for years.”

Ultimately, Jalin Turner decided to step up on short notice to face Bobby Green at UFC Austin. The fight will now be three rounds but will remain at 155lbs.

Joe Pyfer gets first UFC main event

The other fight that UFC CEO Dana White announced was a Fight Night main event on Feb. 10 from the UFC Apex.

In the main event, 10th-ranked middleweight Jack Hermansson will be fighting for the first time since December of 2022 when he takes on unranked Joe Pyfer, who will be getting his first UFC main event.

Hermansson has headlined four UFC events and is 1-3 in the sports while he’s 3-4 in his last seven as he’s alternated losses and wins.

Joe Pyfer, meanwhile, is 3-0 in the UFC and getting a big step up in competition. In his three UFC appearances, Pyfer submitted Abdul Razak Alhassan and scored knockout wins over Gerald Meerschaert and Alen Amedovski.
