Paul Daley wasn’t impressed with Nick Diaz and guarantees he will knock him out

Now that Paul Daley vs. Nick Diaz is confirmed, the only question that remains is how many members of security will be on stage at their weigh-in face-off. I’m placing the over/under at five, all of which will be supremely inadequate to deal with either of the two fighters. A blue sports coat and dress shoes will not aid you to break up an altercation between Nick Diaz and Paul Daley. It will happen, and you’re just putting your body in danger by believing that you can prevent it. That was my unsolicited note to all security guards that operate Strikeforce events, thanks for reading it.

MMAFighting managed to get Paul Daley to chime in on Nick Diaz’s recent win over Evangelista Cyborg but unfortunately, Paul Daley was not impressed by his performance.

“I hit unlike any other welterweight in MMA. I will knock Diaz out. I will knock him out…

“Nick doesn’t have great wrestling. Most of his takedowns come from the clinch or he’s dropping guys with bodyshots, but that ain’t gonna happen with me. Yeah he’s fast but he’s not explosive like me when it comes to MMA. He’s got great conditioning, yeah, but what happens when I’m moving three or four times as fast as anybody he’s fought in the past? How’s he going to deal with that?

“I thought Diaz was OK. I thought he’s been more impressive in other fights. And I thought Cyborg was predictable. I kind of thought after the first round he’d be done because of wind. The guy used to fight at heavyweight, so it’s not going to be easy on his body to go to welterweight. Diaz, the guy fights from everywhere, uses punches and kicks. Then it went to the ground. It wasn’t really impressive because I expected him to beat Cyborg. It was an OK performance.”

Hopefully Nick Diaz will publish another YouTube video that begins with both of his middle fingers held high in the air and Daley will combat this with yet another Underground romoshop challenge. The MMA world needs more creative smack-talk, and hopefully these two will advance that aspect of the sport by at least 300 years. [Source]
