Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant doesn’t think Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are in a real relationship.
Swift and Kelce have been the talk of not only the sports world but also the entertainment world as the two have begun dating. Swift has been seen at Kansas City Chiefs games cheering on Kelce, while the tight end went down to Argentina to watch Swift perform at her ‘Eras Tour’ on his bye week.
Although many believe the two are in love and may end up getting married, Paige VanZant doesn’t think that is the case at all. Instead, she believes it’s a publicity stunt for Swift, Kelce, and the NFL to gain more attention on them.
“I think that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce ‘love story,’ I believe it’s 100 percent fake,” VanZant said on aKickAss Love Story. “Come for me, ‘Swifties.’ I have UFC fans coming for me, I think I can handle the ‘Swifties.’ I believe it is 100 percent fake. It is publicity. It is one, it’s huge for the NFL because yes, the NFL is big. Taylor Swift is huge and now she’s getting an entirely different demographic to come watch the NFL.
“Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now. It’s a huge publicity play on both fronts. It’s good for Taylor Swift, it’s good for the NFL, it’s good for Travis Kelce. There is so much strategic stuff that’s happening,” VanZant continued.
VanZant isn’t the first person and likely won’t be the last to claim that Swift and Kelce’s relationship is a publicity stunt. But, the longer it goes and the more time they are seen together it seems unlikely that is the case.
Paige VanZant’s fighting career
As for Paige VanZant, she hasn’t competed since July of 2021 when she lost to Rachael Ostovich at BKFC 19 to drop to 0-2.
Since then, VanZant has not fought since then and there is no word on if she will fight again. In her MMA career, she went 8-5 including going 5-4 in the UFC with notable wins over Rachael Ostovich and Felice Herrig among others.
