Paige has come to slap fighting
Less than a month after her boxing match with Elle Brooke, VanZant made the switch to Power Slap. She broke the news at UFC Saudi Arabia this past weekend. As expected, “12 Gauge” already has a debut date as she is scheduled to face South Africa’s Christine Wolmarans on June 28 at the UFC Apex.
Why Paige joined Power Slap
Besides becoming one of the most famous combat sports personalities in the world, VanZant has also proven that she could take on any challenge put in front of her. This time, “12 Gauge” said that her decision to join Power Slap was not really about proving something or making a point.
“I just signed a contract and whether motherf*ckers like it or not, I am doing Power Slap,” VanZant said on “A Kickass Love Story” podcast. “I just signed a contract with Power Slap. Because you know what? I’m f*cking Paige VanZant. I was in the UFC, bareknuckle boxing, boxing. Now, I’m doing Power Slap. … I’m going to do literally everything and piss everybody off.”
VanZant last fought Brooke in a boxing match that ended in a split draw. Talks of rematch was said to be in the works but apparently, VanZant will do some Power Slap at the moment.
